Dental Implants
What is a dental implant?
A dental implant is an artificial tooth which feels and looks like your own tooth providing a
secure and fixed solution for your missing tooth/teeth. It is a titanium screw that is placed into the
jawbone to act as the root of your tooth and then a crown/bridge/denture is placed upon it.
Why choose dental implants?
A missing tooth can significantly affect the way you eat, speak and your confidence.
Dental implants not only restore your smile but they also massively improve your quality of life.
You will no longer to need to worry about avoiding certain foods and feel happy about showing
off your smile.
What is the process of dental implants?
Dental implant treatment usually takes between 4-6months
First visit: This will be where you have your first initial consultation where you will discuss with
Dr.Ordi the area of concern and the possible options of restoration. If you decide to go ahead with
the proposed treatment Dr.Ordi will use his intra-oral scanner to take an impression of your teeth
and prepare a drill-guide for your next appointment which will be implant placement.
Second Visit: At this appointment you will undergo a small surgical procedure under local
aesthetic where the titanium implant will be placed into the jawbone. The procedure is painless
and usually over within an hour depending on the amount of implants you require.
Third Visit: This appointment is where Dr.Ordi will check how well your implant has integrated
and take another impression using the intra-oral scanner to get the crown ready for your new
smile.
Fourth Visit: This is the final appointment where your crown will be fitted.
